Softball Recap: McKenzie Takes a Loss

McKenzie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huntingdon Mustangs. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

McKenzie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aurora Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Addison Milam also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

McKenzie's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Huntingdon, they moved to 4-9-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKenzie will head out to take on Waverly Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Huntingdon, they will venture away from home to challenge Union City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
