Murray will face off against Caldwell County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Murray came up short against Paducah Tilghman on Monday, falling 14-4.
Murray saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mayla Smith, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Chloe Summers was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Hopkins County Central 9-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Alexis Wood, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Hopkins County Central off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tink Clark, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison McDaniel, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Caldwell County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hopkins County Central only posted a batting average of .192.
Murray's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Caldwell County, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Caldwell County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Murray has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Caldwell County, though, as they've only averaged .311. Will they be able to contain Murray's hitters?
Murray suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Caldwell County when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Murray avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
