Baseball Game Preview: Oroville Tigers vs. Orland Trojans

Oroville hasn't had much luck against Orland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Oroville has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Oroville lost 13-2 to Orland on Tuesday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Orland's part, Roy Alexander was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave Alexander a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Derek Clark was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victor Guerrero, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Orland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oroville struck out 13 times.

Oroville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Orland, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oroville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Orland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts.
