Softball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity dropped down to 9-4 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 13-0 to the Prospect Mountain Apaches. The game marked the first time this year in which the Pioneers were not able to get on the board.

As for Prospect Mountain, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

For Prospect Mountain's part, the result came thanks to Sophia Bowman's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Bowman has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Taylor Greenwood was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Guptill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI and two doubles.

Looking ahead, Trinity will head out to square off against Monadnock at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect Mountain will be paying especially close attention to the Pioneers' contest: after the Pioneers face off against Somersworth, they'll take on Prospect Mountain again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
