Football Recap: Galt Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Galt played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies, falling 36-13.

Although Galt took the loss, they still got scores from Tucker Alexander and Robert Rubio.

Golden Sierra's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cody McCoard, who rushed for 82 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. McCoard also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Another rusher making a difference was Jason Sasser, who gained 177 total yards.

Galt's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Golden Sierra, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Galt will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bradshaw Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Golden Sierra, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-12 loss against Bear River on the 12th.
