Softball Recap: Diboll Gets the Win

Diboll won the last time they faced Nacogdoches and things went their way on Friday too. The Diboll Lumberjacks were the clear victor by a 12-4 margin over the Nacogdoches Dragons.

Brooklyn Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hernandez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lexi Contreras, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Valerie Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Diboll's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Nacogdoches, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Diboll will host Groveton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nacogdoches, they will take on Latexo in a tournament on Friday.
