Softball Game Preview: Lehman Lobos vs. Rouse Raiders

The Lehman Lobos are taking a road trip to face off against the Rouse Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lehman is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Lehman lost 11-1 to Liberty Hill on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Rouse ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Leander 6-5.

Blakely Barber spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Delaney Vannoy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilynn George, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

Rouse pushed their record up to 14-9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Lehman, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15-1.

Lehman came out on top in a nail-biter against Rouse in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lobos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
