Football Recap: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Tampa Catholic Crusaders
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearwater). They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over the Tampa Catholic Crusaders. With that victory, the Tornadoes brought their scoring average up to 28.6 points per game.
Clearwater was led to victory by Jaylen White and Jerry Drain. White rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, while Drain rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Javeyon McKenzie did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Clearwater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.
