Preview: Reagan Raiders vs. Parkland Mustangs
The Reagan Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Parkland Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Reagan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 116 points over their last three contests.
Last Friday, Reagan beat West Forsyth 35-26.
Reagan found their leader in underclassman Jacob Smith, who threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Smith is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Parkland took a serious blow against East Forsyth on Friday, falling 62-7. Parkland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.
Parkland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of AJ Hughes, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Riley Horton who threw for 127 yards and a touchdown. Hughes' longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.
Reagan's victory bumped their season record to 2-5 while Parkland's defeat dropped theirs to 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Reagan against Parkland in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 50-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reagan since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
