Baseball Recap: Tularosa Victorious

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Tularosa and Hatch Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats walked away with a 13-8 win over the Bears on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Bears on their field since April 1, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Sewell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Samuel Kusmack was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Sewell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Tularosa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Tularosa's record is now 4-5. As for Hatch Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Tularosa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
