Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln-Way Central Knights vs. Batavia Bulldogs

The Lincoln-Way Central Knights will take on the Batavia Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Batavia took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln-Way Central, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Lincoln-Way Central was able to grind out a solid win over Bradley-Bourbonnais, taking the game 2-0. The Knights have beaten the Boilermakers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Boilermakers has come to flipping the script.

While Lincoln-Way Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Batavia didn't have quite enough to beat St. Charles East on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Batavia actually scored more points across those three sets (71-66), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 25-23.

Lincoln-Way Central's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Batavia, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.
