Space Coast and Merritt Island are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Space Coast Vipers will be playing at home against the Merritt Island Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Meanwhile, Merritt Island came up short against Viera on Wednesday and fell 7-2. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Merritt Island saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rindi Amos, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Merritt Island has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Space Coast's loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

However, it's not like Merritt Island struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
