Basketball Game Preview: Hathaway Hornets vs. Lake Arthur Tigers

Hathaway hasn't had much luck against Lake Arthur recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hathaway Hornets will square off against the Lake Arthur Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Last Friday, Hathaway made easy work of Jennings and carried off a 58-32 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lake Arthur took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-27 victory over Elton.

Lake Arthur has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-13 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40 points. As for Hathaway, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-15.

Hathaway didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake Arthur in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hathaway since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
