After a string of nine wins, Sunset's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Jesuit Crusaders by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Apollos couldn't push the score so high this time.
Sydney Arnold spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sunset saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Townsend, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
