Recap: Crown Point Bulldogs vs. Hammond Morton Governors
The Crown Point Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Hammond Morton with a sharp 78-54 victory. Crown Point might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Ava Ziolkowski, who scored 55 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was her 14th in a row with at least ten points. Rae Holok was another key contributor, scoring three points.
When it comes to explaining why Hammond Morton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kylah KP Patterson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. Patterson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Angel Watson, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Hammond Morton were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crown Point only racked up 21 assists.
Crown Point's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Hammond Morton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
Crown Point will head out on the road to face off against Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games. Hammond Morton will be home for the holidays to greet Washington Township at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
