Softball Game Preview: Dearborn Pioneers vs. Glenn Rockets

The Dearborn Pioneers will take on the Glenn Rockets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Dearborn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Dearborn came up short against Lutheran on Thursday, falling 7-1.

Dearborn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Niveen Sleiman, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belleville.

Dearborn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Dearborn's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Pioneers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Glenn, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Dearborn continue to outrun the ball?

Dearborn might still be hurting after the 31-21 defeat they got from Glenn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
