Football Preview: Peddie Falcons vs. Hun Raiders
Peddie hasn't had much luck against Hun recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Peddie Falcons will head out to square off against the Hun Raiders at 2:00 p.m.
Peddie is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Pennington on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Peddie was beaten by Pennington 41-8. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 17th).
Meanwhile, Hun made easy work of St. Thomas More on Saturday and carried off a 38-18 victory. Considering the Raiders have won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Moran continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 357 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. A healthy portion of Moran's aerial production (132 yards to be exact) went to Ryder Kusch, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Hun didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Bryce Kania led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Jack Easterly is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.
This is the second loss in a row for Peddie and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Hun, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
