Basketball Recap: Kenwood Comes Up Short

Kenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-16 defeat at the hands of the Dundalk Owls. The Bluebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Lanaya Valentine, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds for Dundalk. That's the most boards Valentine has posted since back in January of 2024. Caitlyn Howard was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 22 rebounds and four steals.

Kenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Dundalk, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenwood has already played their next match (against Woodlawn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dundalk will look to defend their home court on January 29th against Lansdowne at 4:00 p.m.
