Wynot has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Mullen has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Blue Devils will host the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wynot is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 44-8 victory over Fullerton. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Warriors are ranked 72nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Devin Brummer
| 10/23/25 vs Fullerton | 156.3 |
| 09/20/24 @ Randolph | 154.9 |
| 10/18/24 vs Bancroft-Rosalie | 141.3 |
| 08/29/25 vs Crofton | 133.5 |
| 09/26/25 @ Lyons-Decatur Northeast | 130.3 |
A big part of Wynot's win came down to the chemistry between Devin Brummer and his top target Kotner Koch. Brummer threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Koch gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Brummer a new career-high in passer rating (156.3).
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wynot proved: they limited Fullerton to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Lane Heimes for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wynot hasn't allowed more than 2.8 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.
Wynot's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Mullen was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Maxwell 54-13. The Broncos pushed the score to 38-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats had little chance of recovering from.
Wynot better keep an eye on Alex Werner. He was instrumental in Mullen's win, rushing for 236 yards and five scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Werner also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Wynot's record is now 8-1. As for Mullen, their record now sits at an identical 8-1.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Heimes and Werner. Heimes just won't slow down this season and has averaged 74.8 rushing yards per game. Werner has been a dominant force too and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 131 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Wynot against Mullen in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the squad secured a 50-20 victory. In that game, the Blue Devils amassed a halftime lead of 36-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
