Basketball Recap: Hiram Comes Up Short

Hiram was the 58-30 winner over Cass when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hiram Hornets took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cass Colonels on Friday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Hiram lost, don't look at Taylor Crawford. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Crawford has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. T'Nasia Nance was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Even though they lost, Hiram smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Hiram's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Cass, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

As of now, neither Hiram nor Cass have any future games scheduled.
