Basketball Recap: Valley Has No Trouble Against Red Mesa

Valley won the last time they faced Red Mesa and things went their way on Monday too. The Valley Pirates strolled past the Red Mesa Redskins with points to spare, taking the game 59-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Red Mesa's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shyla Pipkin, who posted six points along with 15 boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

The win got Valley back to even at 7-7. As for Red Mesa, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will face off against Joseph City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Mesa, they will host Rough Rock at 4:00 p.m. on January 14th.
