Softball Game Preview: Manzano Monarchs vs. Eldorado Golden Eagles

The Manzano Monarchs are taking a road trip to challenge the Eldorado Golden Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Manzano came up short against Santa Fe on Monday, falling 8-2. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kiara Laweka made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Eldorado beat Capital 14-11 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Mya Zamora was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Hogan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Eldorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Eldorado, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Manzano suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Eldorado in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Monarchs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
