Baseball Recap: Deerfield Beach Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hollywood Hills last Monday, Deerfield Beach came back down to earth. The Deerfield Beach Bucks fell just short of the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday.

Joseph Yastine was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Easton Viveros was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Deerfield Beach's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deerfield Beach will head out to square off against Pompano Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they will take on Stoneman Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
