Basketball Recap: Brethren Comes Up Short

Brethren played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Glen Lake Lakers, falling 72-51. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Lakers are ranked 42nd).

Jacob Plamondon was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-13 on his way to 22 points and seven boards for Glen Lake. Plamondon is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Benji Allen, who posted 18 points.

Brethren's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Glen Lake, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Coming up, Brethren will face off against Bear Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glen Lake, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glen Lake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season.
