Softball Recap: Churchville-Chili Comes Up Short

Churchville-Chili dropped their record down to 9-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Webster Schroeder Warriors, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Saints' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Webster Schroeder, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

For Webster Schroeder's part, Liana DeValder made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. DeValder has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Webster Schroeder got a big performance out of Amber Kohlmeier, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Coliicchio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

As of now, neither Churchville-Chili nor Webster Schroeder have any future games scheduled.
