Soccer Game Preview: Omak vs. Cascade

Omak hasn't had much luck against Cascade recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Kodiaks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Omak will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Liberty Bell, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. The Pioneers beat the Mountain Lions by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, Cascade entered their tilt with Okanogan on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cascade's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Okanogan are ranked 24th).

Cascade's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three contests. As for Omak, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-8-1 record this season.

Omak suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Cascade when the teams last played back in March. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
