Basketball Recap: Jamarie Lyce Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Forest Lake Academy

International Community had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 47-41 win over the Forest Lake Academy Panthers on Thursday. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 51-49 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

International Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamarie Lyce, who posted 12 points. Jace Grover was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Forest Lake Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brandon Edris, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Thomas Mingot, who went 7 for 16 en route to 17 points. Those three steals gave Edris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Paradise, who had six points and five boards.

International Community now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Forest Lake Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

International Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-54 defeat against Admiral Farragut on the 17th. Forest Lake Academy has also already played their next contest, a 56-35 loss against Geneva on the 17th.
