Softball Recap: Wallkill Extends Winning Streak to Six

Wallkill won against Rondout Valley on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Panthers' way against the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Madison Auger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gianna Allessandro was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Reeves, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Wallkill pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

The future could be bright for both Wallkill and Our Lady of Lourdes: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Panthers will try to hand Cornwall Central their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Our Lady of Lourdes will look to extend Red Hook's six-game losing streak when they meet at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
