Volleyball Recap: Leander Takes a Loss

Leander lost against Marcus back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 2-1.

Marcus can attribute much of their success to Betsy Holzapfel, who had seven digs and three aces. Those seven digs gave Holzapfel a new career-high.

Leander's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Marcus, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-11.

After both having extra time off, Leander and LBJ Austin will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Marcus, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against McKinney North on the 2nd.
