Basketball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 53-39 bruising from the Albert Lea Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Winhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-52 back in December of 2024.

Winona's record is now 0-18. As for Albert Lea, their win ended a 26-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-19.

Winona will face off against Plainview-Elgin-Millville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Albert Lea, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Albert Lea Tigers take on the Mankato East Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
