Bay Path RVT and Advanced Math & Science Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Minutemen will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bay Path RVT's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Wednesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bay Path RVT came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to St. Paul.
Advanced Math & Science Academy never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Burncoat on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Patriots. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Drew Laidley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Laidley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Advanced Math & Science Academy got a massive performance out of Liam Thornley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Thornley has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Chuck Hammel, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Advanced Math & Science Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4. As for Bay Path RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
