Volleyball Game Preview: Lena-Winslow Panthers vs. Galena Pirates

Lena-Winslow hasn't had much luck against Galena recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will face off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lena-Winslow is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Pearl City.

Meanwhile, Galena was able to grind out a solid win over West Carroll on Monday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Lena-Winslow better focus on containing Zoe Blaum and Emma Ehrler as the pair were huge in Galena's win. Blaum had eight digs and five aces, while Ehrler had four digs and two aces. Ehrler has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 32 times she's played.

Galena was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Galena's victory bumped their record up to 28-6. As for Lena-Winslow, their win bumped their record up to 21-14.

Lena-Winslow couldn't quite get it done against Galena in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
