Volleyball Recap: Munster Mustangs vs. Crown Point Bulldogs
Munster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Crown Point Bulldogs. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Munster sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 15-13.
Jose Foster paced Munster's offense, picking up seven kills. Foster got some help from Austin Spain and his 27 assists. Spain was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.
Munster's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Crown Point, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Coincidentally, Munster and Crown Point will both be playing Andrean the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Fighting 59ers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
