Baseball Recap: Charleston Catholic Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Charleston Catholic won against Gilmer County on Friday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Irish beat the Scott Skyhawks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The Irish haven't had any issues with the Skyhawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Charleston Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Scott, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charleston Catholic will venture away from home to take on Buffalo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bison will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Irish surely won't give up without a fight. As for Scott, they are taking a road trip to challenge Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Skyhawks 3.5, the Wildcats 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
