Baseball Recap: Woodstock Comes Up Short

Woodstock lost against Woodstock North back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Streaks lost 15-9 to the Thunder. While the Blue Streaks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunder 4-0 in the first period.

Angelo Pacini and Sonny Marsalla did some serious damage despite the final result: Pacini went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Marsalla went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Woodstock is 2-1 when Marsalla posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. Devin Haggerty was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Woodstock has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Woodstock North, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

While Woodstock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
