Softball Recap: Auburn Trojans vs. Mt. Rainier Rams
Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 27-21 walloping at the hands of the Mt. Rainier Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (13), Auburn still had to take the loss.
Ryan Truitt was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while going 5-for-6. Jacquelyn Casad was another key contributor, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mt. Rainier, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
Auburn will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. As for Mt. Rainier, they will head out on the road to challenge Auburn Mountainview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
