Basketball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. Orem Tigers

Brighton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 69-60 victory over Juan Diego Catholic. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but the Bengals were the better team in the second half.

Brighton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bradley Easton, who posted 23 points. Easton's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Case Beames, who scored 17 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Orem against Maple Mountain on Friday as the team secured a 69-39 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 27 points or more this season.

Orem's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

Brighton came up short against Orem when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 55-45. Can Brighton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
