Recap: Geneva Panthers vs. Slocomb Red Tops
In what's become a running theme this season, the Geneva Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Slocomb 56-8 at home. Given Geneva's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Slocomb is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaden Ward continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. RayAnna Ausley was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Geneva and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for Slocomb, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Geneva will head out on the road to square off against Andalusia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andalusia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Slocomb, they will be playing at home against Dale County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dale County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
