League recap: Heritage tops Melbourne to extend winning streak

Heritage extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 13 this week by beating Melbourne, 39-6. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Panthers.

Heritage made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,221 from 1,282. The improvement was the result of 39-6 victory over the Bulldogs last week.

Eau Gallie's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Commodores /Ftg feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Torrence Brown has thrown for 52 yards and one touchdown this season, while Daneil Kroupa has two catches for 34 yards. Jordan Benton leads the league in rushing with 124 yards.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ajay Ulmer's team takes on Palm Bay. The Panthers have allowed 59 points this season, while the Pirates have given up 78.

Palm Bay led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on Bayside.
