Basketball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Riverview Sarasota Rams, falling 60-17. The matchup marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Taylor Davidson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds for Riverview Sarasota. Davidson has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abbie Grim, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 12 points and eight boards.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Riverview Sarasota, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will take on Strawberry Crest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverview is facing Strawberry Crest at the right time seeing as Strawberry Crest is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Riverview Sarasota, they will challenge IMG Academy State at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Riverview Sarasota's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while IMG Academy State has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
