Recap: Swink Lions vs. Walsenburg Panthers
The Swink Lions had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-13 win over Walsenburg. That looming 48-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Swink yet this season.
Leading Swink to victory were Jocelynn James and Briana McElroy. James scored 13 points, while McElroy scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daisy Heberlie, who scored six points.
Swink's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Walsenburg, their defeat was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swink will take on Swallows Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walsenburg, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sierra Grande at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Sierra Grande focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Saturday.
