Baseball Recap: Beallsville Triumphs

The third road matchup was the charm for Beallsville, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Valley Lumberjacks on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won eight in a row.

Hunter Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryan Dornon was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Chaz Gasser also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Beallsville picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Valley, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beallsville will welcome Clay-Battelle at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cee-Bees will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley, they will host St. Marys at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
