Softball Game Preview: Haywood Tomcats vs. Madison Mustangs

For the second straight game, Haywood will face off against Madison. The Tomcats will welcome the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Haywood's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Madison has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Haywood didn't have quite enough to beat Madison and fell 3-2.

Haywood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Smoot, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Madison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Haywood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
