Volleyball Recap: Spring Mills Takes a Loss

Spring Mills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Hedgesville Eagles. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 20-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Gillian Sykes was a one-woman wrecking crew For Hedgesville. as she had nine digs and four aces. Those nine digs gave Sykes a new career-high.

Spring Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Hedgesville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

After both having extra time off, Spring Mills and Jefferson will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hedgesville, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ashley Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
