Baseball Game Preview: Autauga Academy Generals vs. Holtville Bulldogs

The Autauga Academy Generals are taking a road trip to challenge the Holtville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holtville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Autauga Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Autauga Academy turned things around against Isabella on Friday. They skirted past the Mustangs 4-3.

Logan Dunaway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cody Tornow was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Lane Phillips also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Holtville came up short against John Carroll Catholic on Saturday, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost three in a row.

Holtville now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Autauga Academy, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-10.
