Basketball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield lost against Graves County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mayfield Cardinals took a hard 53-38 fall against the Graves County Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Eagles are ranked 16th).

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Graves County, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 22-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayfield will take on Carlisle County at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Graves County, they will head out to face off against Calloway County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
