Newton Falls waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Garfield G-Men. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the G-Men back in January, they had to take a 52-42 loss.

Newton Falls was led to victory by Landon McGregor and Phil Davis. McGregor went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Davis went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Travis Tursack, who posted six points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Newton Falls was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garfield only posted 11 assists.

Despite the loss, Garfield still got an impressive performance from Preston Gedeon, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 27 points. That was a full 55.1% of Garfield's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Nick Edic was another key player, putting up seven points and eight boards.

Newton Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Garfield, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-5.
