Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Independence Patriots

The Princeton Tigers will take on the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Independence will be up against a hot Princeton squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Princeton enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over Nicholas County on Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Princeton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addisyn Sarver, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. What's more, Sarver also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Carley Hurt was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Independence posted their biggest win since January 4th on Saturday. They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 64-40 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Princeton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Princeton against Independence in their previous meeting on Monday, as the squad secured a 68-26 win. Does Princeton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
