Softball Recap: West Ashley Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

West Ashley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They never let the Stall Warriors get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Give the Wildcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

West Ashley pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Stall, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. West Ashley is set to challenge their familiar foe Fort Dorchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.4, the Patriots 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stall will square off against rival Summerville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
