The Eldred Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Liberty Indians at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Eldred is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Eldred is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Delaware Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-6.

Emma Bisland and Jillian Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bisland went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Smith went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That hit was Smith's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Eldred on Friday and fell 11-6. The Indians have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Giuliana Wagner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madelynn Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Eldred's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Liberty's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eldred has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Liberty, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Eldred's sizable advantage in that area, the Indians will need to find a way to close that gap.

Eldred beat Liberty 11-6 in their previous matchup on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
